Christmas Decorating - A Sneak Peek!

I've been wanting to use multicolor lights on our main Christmas tree for years, and this year, I finally gave it a try!
These large multicolor lights just give the tree such a back-in-the-day feel. I remember helping decorate our family Christmas tree growing up, and for years, we used the large multicolor lights. Though what we used were the incandescent version, and those got quite hot. These above are actually LED, so they are cool to the touch and much more energy efficient. LED multicolor has always had a different, cooler coloring than the incandescent multicolor of the past, but this set is such a close match to what I remember. If you are ever searching for multicolor LED lights that give the closest colored glow to the old incandescent lights - plug in what you find in a dark room and look at the walls. If the walls have a cool light look to them over all from the light casted, they most likely aren't the same. But if the color casted looks warm, odds are they are a close match! Many brands have advertised lights having the "vintage" coloring, but this is the first I have found to be accurate in lighting color for multicolor. Here's a link to them if you are curious: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Home-Accents-Holiday-50-Multi-Colored-C9-LED-Lights-25WL50158/334498449 (I used two strands for a wide 7.5ft tall tree).
To go with the multicolor lights, I decorated the tree with classic, old fashioned style ornaments & vintage gold colored foil tinsel! The fireplace is in the same room as the main colorful Christmas tree, so I decorated it to match!

I used mini incandescent multicolor lights in the garland, along with berry stems, red velvet ribbon, ornaments, and some vintage glass beaded garland. To complete the cheerful look, I added some festive stockings in front.
Well - that's just a glimpse at one of the themes in one room so far this year!

I hope you enjoyed the decorations, and I look forward to sharing a Christmas Home Tour video! :)
